Our solution to the housing shortage: an eco-friendly attic conversion using wood construction.

Our project—the attic conversion in Sendling—sets new standards for sustainable infill development.

Aligned Ambitions

The existing four- and six-story residential building from the 1960s has undergone a remarkable transformation. The addition of new floors has created new residential units, each featuring enclosed balconies that establish a harmonious connection between the interior and the outside world.

This lends a modern touch to the traditional barrel-vaulted roof construction. The spacious living areas beneath the curved roof vaults are characterized by a unique design with special charm.

All apartments feature a rooftop terrace that treats residents to a view over the rooftops of Munich.

Our decision to construct the barrel vault roof using timber also opens up the possibility of creating more spacious living areas. Thanks to the vapor-permeable timber construction, a healthy living environment is created that positively impacts residents’ well-being. Wood also acts as a CO₂ sink. This construction allows us to reduce the ecological footprint to a minimum.

We are addressing the urgent housing shortage in Munich with eco-friendly wood construction.
